Astavita Introduces New “Virgin Salmon Oil” Supplement
Virgin Salmon Oil Unveiled at Natural Products Expo West
Mount Laurel, NJ, April 25, 2006 – Astavita unveiled the newest addition to their supplement line at the Natural Products Expo West trade show, March 24-26, 2006 in Anaheim, California. Astavita Virgin Salmon Oil contains a combination of Norwegian salmon oil and AstaReal® astaxanthin.

According to Charles DePrince, president of Astavita, "The objective of introducing our new Virgin Salmon Oil is to provide important points of difference to the retailer in the crowded omega 3 market."

To maintain virgin quality oil, the salmon is processed by avoiding high heat, bleaching or deodorizing which can strip the natural oil of important enzymes, trace elements and natural antioxidants. However, to insure purity and eliminate the risk of mercury, PCB’s and other harmful toxins, the salmon oil is minimally processed using molecular distillation.

The other ingredient in Astavita Virgin Salmon Oil is AstaREAL natural astaxanthin which is harvested from the microalgae know as Haematococcus pluvialis, grown in a state of the art and patented BioDome system on the island of Maui. AstaREAL is a powerful antioxidant known for its beneficial properties of protecting a cell's membrane from lipid peroxidation.
